Our general surgery applications
Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Applications (Sleeve gastrectomy, Gastric Bypass, Type 2 Diabetes Surgery, etc.)
Sleeve gastrectomy involves decreasing stomach volume by 75% by a surgical procedure. After sleeve gastrectomy, the stomach acquires the shape of a banana. During the surgery, the section with Ghrelin hormone, which provides hunger signal sent by the stomach to the brain, is also removed. So the patients feel themselves mechanically full and also the feeling of fullness is provided with lesser food intake due to the smaller stomach volume.
Gastric Bypass; the word bypass means bypassing something or taking the shortcut in Turkish. Gastric bypass surgery is a serious operation decreasing absorption of food in intestines. In Gastric Bypass surgery, in which a large portion of the stomach is bypassed, the food enters the intestines without seeing a major part of the stomach.
Type 2 Diabetes Surgery; Type 2 diabetes is known as a disease that progresses slowly and insidiously. Moderate and large vascular damage is detected in most patients at the time of diagnosis. Although each patient’s history is specific, the insulin reserve of a Type 2 diabetic patient is usually depleted over an average of 10 years. After the insulin reserve is exhausted, organ failure begins. Early diagnosis and treatment are of great importance to get good results for the operation. Type 2 diabetes surgery is a closed (laparoscopic) operation performed through small holes made in the abdominal area, and following surgery, the patient easily resumes daily activities in a short time.
Non-surgical Treatment Methods Auxiliary to Obesity Surgery (Stomach Botox, Stomach Balloon)
Stomach botox; in stomach botox procedure, performed by endoscopy, botox is applied to the patient’s stomach under sedation for 10-15 minutes. The procedure increases the period of fullness in the stomach and delays the passage into duodenum of food that has entered the stomach.
Gastric balloon; gastric balloon procedure, one of the non-surgical treatment methods, is a procedure performed in 10 minutes under sedation (sleep) anesthesia based on placing an endoscopic balloon in the stomach. The balloon placed during the procedure is inflated with water or air inside. The inflated balloon occupies a certain part of the stomach volume and leads to a feeling of fullness. The patient should definitely undergo a 2nd endoscopy for removal of the balloon 6 months to 1 year after the procedure.
Laparoscopic (Closed) Gallbladder Surgery and Open Gallbladder Surgery
The gallbladder is an organ located under the liver in the upper right abdomen, whose task is to store bile in the body. Bile helps digestion of food. Gallstones may sometimes require surgical intervention. Cholecystectomy is the surgical removal of the gallbladder. Laparoscopic gall bladder surgery is the procedure of removing the gall bladder by opening small incisions in the abdomen. The surgery takes about 45 minutes and patients can be discharged on the same day after surgery. In open gallbladder surgeries, a larger incision is made in the abdominal wall, which prolongs postoperative hospital stay and the time to resuming daily activities.
Inguinal Hernia and Umbilical Hernia Surgeries
The protrusion of an organ in the abdomen from a weak spot in the abdominal wall is called a hernia. Hernia is usually seen in the groin and belly area. Swelling is observed in the hernia area. Open, closed and robotic methods can be applied in umbilical and inguinal hernia surgery.
Endocrine System Surgery (Thyroid and Parathyroid Gland Surgical Cases etc.)
Endocrine system surgery is the name given to surgical procedures applied to the endocrine glands. Endocrine system surgery deals with thyroid gland diseases, parathyroid gland diseases and adrenal (adrenal gland) diseases. Endocrine system surgery operations can be performed using open and closed methods.

Proctology (Anal Fissure, Anal Fistula, Hemorrhoid Surgery and Treatments, etc.)
Proctology is the general name of surgical procedures applied in the case of disorders of intestinal and anal regions. Anal fissure are cracks developing in the anal region for various reasons. Anal Fistula means a tear in the anal region. Hemorrhoid is a condition caused by the loosening of the veins around the anus and their sagging outwards. Anal fissure, anal fistula and hemorrhoid surgeries are successfully performed in our hospital.
Surgery of the Adrenal Glands
Adrenal glands are glands above the kidneys responsible for producing endocrine system hormones. Adrenalectomy (surgery of the adrenal glands) is applied to adrenal tumors and malignant tumors, which cause anomalous secretion of hormones.
Reflux is a condition caused by excape of stomach contents into the esophagus. Reflux surgery is applied by strengthening the valve system where the esophagus meets the stomach. Laparoscopic (closed) surgery is the definite solution for reflux.
Hot Chemotherapy Applications
Hot chemotherapy is cleaning of the cancerous tissues in the abdomen by surgical methods and then washing that area with chemotherapy drugs. Hot chemotherapy is used in appendicitis cancer, ovarian cancers and bowel cancers.
