Our health may be at risk from time to time due to environmental and genetic factors throughout our lives. Check-up literally means general screening. With Check-Up (General health screening), diseases can be detected and controlled at the initial stage. General health screening is intended to take necessary measures before the emergence of diseases or identify an existing disease in the early stage and preserve a person’s health integrity. It is recommended that check-up is performed once a year in everyone, regardless of age. It is of great importance to have regular general health screenings, especially after the age of 40 and in individuals with chronic diseases. Having a check-up provides early diagnosis of many diseases such as coronary artery disease, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, menopausal symptoms and osteoporosis. In addition, it is of great importance to have regular health screening in the early diagnosis of diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, which damage vital organs such as brain, heart, kidneys and can progress insidiously without causing any symptoms in the patient.
What Should We Do Before Coming For A Check-Up ?
You should be in a fasting state of about 8 hours before coming to your check-up appointment. There is no problem with drinking water, but you should not smoke, drink caffeinated beverages and sugary foods. It is recommended that you have a light meal and avoid alcohol in the evening before the check-up. You should tell your regular medications and pregnancy, if any, to your doctor. It is not recommended for women to have a check- up during their menstrual period.
During our check-up service provided at Private Ege Şehir Hospital, our specialists perform a physical examination, organize tests to be done and make all necessary consultation decisions before the check-up starts.
